Hello
Thank you for your prompt reply and well done on being apart of a forum that brings wealth to the brain!
I do take all aspects of my business seriously and love it when customers keep me on my toes with queries such as yours.
SAFETY ASSESSMENT:
-----------------------
As you know, here in the EU all products must be safety assessed prior to being sold to the general public (this is not the case in the USA).
All of my hair & skin care goodies are assessed and then Certified for sale by my chemist/toxicologist who I have worked with for over 4 years now.
We have conducted loads of analysis on various ingredients and have been in the forefront of eco-environmental matters since the year 2000.
WHAT IS TRIMONIUM:
----------------------
Tri means three (3)
Monium is a salt
Together they mean Three-Salts but the question to ask is three-salts of WHAT?
With regards to ingredients ending in "trimonium" - BTMS is *not* toxic nor does it harm the environment as it is a bio degradable ingredient.
FACTS & DOCUMENTATION:
---------------------------
According to the Environmental Working Group's Skin Deep Cosmetic Safety Database which states that
BTMS does NOT pose any risk of:
Cancer
Developmental/reproductive toxicity
Violations, Restrictions & Warnings
Allergies/immunotoxicity
Contamination concerns

Here's a list - with accompanying documentation of the non degradable, non-eco friendly "trimonium" on the market today:
Cetrimonium Chloride has a high toxicity and *not* biodegradable nor is ACETAMINOPROPYL TRIMONIUM CHLORIDE (very toxic)
Whereas Behenyl PGTrimonium Chloride on the other hand is less toxic (NOEC > 1 mg/l) and
degradable under aerobic and anaerobic conditions.

CONCLUSION:
---------------
Before you take anyone's word for anything conduct your own research and see what YOU find.
This is the only way to educate yourself and challenge what is/has been said online or in public.
I make it my business to do this all the time as a means of gaining a better understanding of our world and environment.
Hope this has helped.
All the best
Grazie & Ciao for now.
Anita
In ogni caso, vero o non vero (io non ho la qualifica per saperlo) è davvero molto molto gentile!
